Attire Hires Terms & Conditions
By renting or purchasing from Attire Hires, you agree to comply with our policies and understand that these terms and conditions are binding. Failure to adhere to these terms will result in enforcement actions as deemed appropriate by Attire Hires.
REFUNDS
Once the rental has been paid for, refunds will not be provided under any circumstances. This policy applies regardless of whether the item has been collected. The client upon booking has ensured that the item adheres to any applicable guidelines (e.g., school dress code restrictions).
Attire Hires strongly recommends the client to try on the garment before hiring (in-store or postal try ons), as refunds will not be issued for incorrect sizing or discomfort.
By agreeing to these terms, a parent or guardian has given approval for the dress to be booked if the client is under 18 years of age.
CANCELLATIONS
If the client has had a change of mind with their booked garment, Attire Hires must be informed as soon as possible.
- 1 month or more notice before the event: eligible for 100% of the hire price in a store credit
- 14 days or less notice before the event: eligible for 70% of the hire price in a store credit
- 7 days or less notice before the event: eligible for 50% of the hire price in a store credit
- 3 days or less notice before the event: not eligible for a store credit
Credits are not valid for ex-rental sales. Credits cannot be used for late or damage fees.
If the dress has been posted to the customer before the client cancels the dress, the client will not receive a store credit to any value.
Store credits expire after 1 year and are issued via email. Store credits can only be transferred to a direct family member.
If a hire has been placed using a credit note, it is final and cannot be swapped/amended or cancelled for another credit note. Credit notes are treated like vouchers, therefore is subject to availability of garments and existing stock.
SWAPPING ITEMS
If the client wishes to swap to another garment or a different date (subject to availability), Attire Hires must be informed as soon as possible. Attire Hires can facilitate a swap of a garment, but the client agrees to the following conditions:
- If the price of the new garment is less than the booked item, the client agrees to forfeit the price difference
- The client cannot transfer their booked to anyone else (e.g., friend)
- Attire Hires must be informed within 3 days of pick up if the client would like to request a swap
LOCAL/SYDNEY HIRES:
PICK UP:
The garment can be collected by the client or with authority by a friend/family member on the rental start date. It is the client’s responsibility to check Attire Hires’ opening hours to organise pick up.
RETURNS:
The garment must be returned to Attire Hires by the agreed return date. The garment can be returned through the pick up/drop off box, located in Bossley Park 2176. For security purposes, the drop box is managed by surveillance cameras.
Late fees will apply if the garment is not returned by the rental return due date. A fee of $20 per day will apply until the garment is returned. After 20 days, the garment is deemed a non-return and the client will be charged 100% of the RRP.
RURAL/INTERSTATE POSTAGE
Attire Hires will endeavour to post the garment as soon as possible. Attire Hires will ensure to post the garment to arrive before or on the rental start/receive date.
RETURNS:
The garment is to be posted by the designated return day allocated when booking.
The client is to return the garment using the provided return slip. The client must send via email or text, a photo of the lodgement receipt from the post office for proof of postage. Under no circumstances should a garment be left in a street posting box.
The client will be held responsible for any issues that may arise during postage, if a lodgement receipt has not been provided. If the garment does not arrive back to Attire Hires after 20 days, the client will be charged 100% of the RRP in addition to the hire price.
Late fees will apply if the garment is not lodged at the post office by the rental return due date. A fee of $20 per day will apply until the garment is returned.
GARMENT CARE:
The hirer must not alter, modify, or attach anything to the item. Any such alterations will result in charges.
Attempting to clean minor marks or stains is prohibited as it may cause further damage
The hirer is responsible for any loss, theft, damage or destruction of the garment.
General dry cleaning is covered by Attire Hires, however, if the garment has been stained and requires additional cleaning, the client agrees to bear the extra fees. The fee will be invoiced to the client following inspection of the garment.
If the Client is notified of additional fees owed to Attire Hires, such as damage or late fees, the Client must pay within 3 days. After this period, Attire Hires has authority to automatically charge their credit card on file.
DAMAGE:
It is expected that all garments are returned in the condition that they were received by the client from Attire Hires.
Attire Hires will determine if damages are major or minor, acting reasonably in conjunction with Attire Hires’ seamstress and/or dry cleaning provider:
- Major damages are either beyond repair or ruined, which will require item replacement
- Minor damages include excessive marks, stains, rips, tears, holes, fabric pills, broken components and removal of hanging ribbons
Item replacement will incur charges up to the full RRP (in addition to the paid hire). Payment is due within 3 days of notice. Attire Hires may decide to keep the garment.
Clients acknowledge that they are wearing second-hand garments that have been worn by other people, therefore some wear and tear is to be expected. Attire Hires will not provide refunds for garments that have normal wear and tear consistent with a level to be expected of a hire garment.
